Dr. Roland Busch

finance leader & strategic advisor

Dr. Roland Busch has more than three decades of experience in financial and corporate management within the lufthansa group. after joining the company as a management trainee in 1991, he gradually assumed leadership responsibilities in key corporate areas such as controlling, corporate audit, and corporate finance, contributing extensive expertise and in-depth knowledge in these fields.

between 2004 and 2017, Dr. Busch held several board-level and executive management positions within the group, including serving as chief financial officer and member of the executive board of lufthansa german airlines, as well as chief financial officer of swiss international air lines ltd. in 2018, he assumed the role of general representative for finance and head of future finance at deutsche lufthansa ag, where he was responsible for the strategic development and digital transformation of the finance organization.

in addition to his operational responsibilities, Dr. Busch is active on various supervisory and advisory boards, including bilfinger se, delvag versicherungs-ag, reichmuth & co. investment management ag, and the lufthansa pension trust e.v.

his academic career includes a degree in business administration from the university of münster as well as a doctorate from the university of osnabrück.
